We made it to Jaco!!!

We arrived at around 4am on Wednesday morning, after leaving Georgia at 11am Tuesday morning. Just the first of many long travel days ahead. There was so much anticipation and excitement throughout the entire day. But you could also sense the nerves and anxiety running underneath it all. Everywhere you looked you saw someone on the phone squeezing out one last facetime call with friends and family, the uncertainty of wifi looming. There were packs of young adults roaming the airport trying to kill time for a 6 hr layover.

At the moment of congregation, we take over whatever space we have laid claim to. (there’s 50 of us what else would you expect ??)

Our flights were short and fast. Next thing you know its 1 am we are rushing through immigration and out of the building just as fast. We are waving goodbyes and see you soon to the 2 teams that are stationed at the farm. Then the remaining 30ish of us are being loaded on to our own bus to set off on a 2-hour journey to the coast.

We have been here for almost a week now and will begin our ministry work tomorrow. (We have been in “quarantine” since we arrived- out of respect for the community and were also in quarantine while still in Georgia- we slept, ate, and lived in rectangles at AIMS base before coming here and were in masks the entire time except to eat and sleep.)

Now that we have settled in and have found reliable wifi, my goal is to try and post about a blog a week.

Questions are my favorite, so if you have any specifics, I would love to answer them!

I love you all

  1. Praying for God’s covering and provision as you follow his leading and leadership. He has great things in store – though it will stretch you, the process will grow you and His purposes will be fulfilled. Committed to pray for you each day. (Fried of your mom ??)

  2. End of my post had a typo — “friend of your moms” – smiley emoticon turned into questions marks.

  3. I enjoyed reading about the start to your journey.I look forward to your other posts! You’ve got this!
